Do you feel constipated in your pregnancy? Know the remedies

One of the truths that no one can deny is, there are lots of problems that women have to deal with when she has a pregnancy. Pregnancy though is the beautiful phase, but still brings many of the negative parts too in life. It is necessary that the pregnant lady must take care of herself and deal with constipation during the pregnancy smartly. Women during the initial stage or during the first trimester are likely to experience these changes. If you have the first-trimester gestation and have used an online MTP kit for abortion, then you are not likely to experience this constipation change. You may deal with fewer issues as compared to the further trimester.

Why is a woman constipated while she is pregnant?

During the pregnancy, there is an increase in progesterone in the body and this progesterone makes the body’s muscles to relax. The relaxing of the muscles or the body means the relaxing of the intestine even. If your intestine works slowly, then it indicates the digestion slower and hence one has to deal with constipation. Constipation is a common symptom that can be experienced by women during pregnancy and hence you must find some remedies that can help you during the pregnancy.

Below mentioned are the remedies that can be opted if you have pregnancy constipation

Consume more fibre

Consume a diet that contains more fibre as it also helps you by providing the vitamins and antioxidants. Pregnant ladies are recommended that they do consume at least 25-30 grams of dietary fibre so that it can help them be healthy and regular. You can stick to consuming vegetables, beans, fruits, whole grain bread, and bran cereals. Also, you can add some fruits such as raspberries, apples, bananas, and figs, so that it can make you feel refreshed.

Drink fluids

One of the reasons constipations may occur in pregnant women is the lack of fluids in the body. Women who are pregnant are suggested to double the intake of the water so that it becomes easy to excrete the waste during gestation. Pregnant women are prescribed to drink at least 8 ounces of water and this helps you maintain healthy and smooth bowel movements.

Don’t gulp down

While you consume a meal in bulk it becomes difficult for the digestive system to digest food and hence it is recommended that you do break your diets into smaller parts. Break your meals into 5-6 meals so that it can help you avoid constipation and allows the food to get easily digested. Due to consuming the meal in smaller parts, the digestive system does not have to work overtime and the food gets transferred from the intestine and colon.

Keep moving

Regular psychical activity is one of the best ways that can help women to reduce the complications of constipation. Women are recommended to practice exercise for 20-30 minutes 3 times a week so that it can help to reduce the constipation issues.

Also, before you start with the exercises ensure that you do check with the health care provider for choosing suitable exercises.

Soften up

If all the natural elements fail to relieve from constipation then your health care provider would suggest you with stool softener and it can help you get easy on constipation. The softener does work by moistening the bowel so that it becomes easy to pass the stools. Doctors usually do prescribe women with iron-induced softer stool tablets.

Constipation is common in women during pregnancy and there is nothing that women do have to worry about.
